The Unical SUG Senate Partners With Entrepreneurship Development Centre
The University of Calabar Students’ Union Government 7th Senate led by Senator Omori Okokon has worked out modalities and made remarkable arrangement where students would carry out their entrepreneurship painting exercise in the Students’ Centre for the next year academic session.
This laudable partnership came to limelight at the courtesy visit to the Director, Entrepreneurship Development Centre, University of Calabar by a group of student’s leaders, which consist of the Scribe, Acting S.A of the Senate, Chief Judge SUG judiciary (Justice Asuquo Etim), Hall 8 Chairman and some other notable students leaders at the office of the Director of EDC, UNICAL on Friday, 13th December, 2019.
According to the Senate President,of the 7th Unical SUG Senate the visit was born out of the need and strong passion to transform the union, move the University forward to the next level and give the SUG secretariat (Malabo) a face lift.
The proactive and indefatigable Senate President also maintained that his administration seeks partnership, pursues peace and progress of the union and not its own self interest.
While receiving the student leaders and expressing his full approval for the proposal for partnership/request for student to carry out their Entrepreneurship painting exercise in students centre, the Director of Entrepreneurship Development Centre, University of Calabar, Dr. Felix Eze commended the Senate President for his effort, determination and commitment towards the vision of the Entrepreneurship Development Centre. He further stated that it was a right step in a right direction and it will come into effect second semester, next academic session.
The Director seized the opportunity to point out some of the achievements of the centre under his leadership adding that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Zana I. Akpagu has extended his tenure in office as the director.
The Unical SUG senate initiated the Introduction of painting in entrepreneurship which would be approved by next academic session.
