Zana commissions new ultramodern female hostel

The Vice- Chancellor of University of calabar,  Ntufam,  Prof. Zana I. Akpagu has made history again by building another supersonic hostel for the female students of the university.

The hostel formal unveiling which took place on Saturday March 14th,  the second day of the varsity 33rd convocation,  had in attendance magnitude of great personalities including the Vice president of the Republic of Liberia Hon. Chief (Dr) Jewel Howard Taylor  who commissioned the hostel for the female students of the university of calabar.

The new hostel has 60 luxury rooms,  a modern car lot,  a great architectural design and many more. It is a new world home on it own.

 Prof. Zana I. Akpagu  who have being famous in his magnificent strides both in administration and infrastructural developments assumed office in 2015 as the first alumnus and the  tenth (10) vice chancellor of the university.

As an ideal, people oriented leader,  the Vice Chancellor assumed office with eagles eyes which  he immensely priotised the the welfare of Nigerian students (Malabites and malabresses). Owing to this alluring fact,  prof. Zana Akpagu never derail or lose sight of his quest. The lack of light,  water, bed and other basic amenities for students staying in the hostels has become a thing of the past. He has tremendously transformed the university with mega projects including the asphalting of the university major/feeder roads.

Taken into consideration the fast growing numbers of students  as a result of the new faculties,  departments and programmes established by the Vice Chancellor and the students quest to stay in the hostel (because of the new face-lift of the hostels),  the workaholic,  students oriented vice chancellor embark on this project among others to meet the teeming needs.

 Prof. Zana I. Akpagu who is nick named "Mr. Projects", is not a day dream or fun name, but an aftermath of hard work and persistence to solving problems affecting lives.

The new ultramodern hostel is located directly behind hall 8 female hostel and students would begin to move in soon.
