The University of calabar is a very prominent institution it is one of the second generation universities and was established in 1975 it initially started as a campus to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka before it was fully established as a university.

The University of calabar can boast of producing several eminent persons in the country like Sen. Godswill Akpabio, former governor of Akwa ibom state, Gov. Okezie ikpeazu the governor of Abia state, Sen. Ndogma Egba the former Senate leader and others but today we would be looking at the Top Nigerian celebrities that attended Unical.

Popular Nigerian celebrity Ini Edo was born in Akwa ibom state. 2. Alex Ekubo 

Alex Ekubo is a Nigerian actor and model he came first runner up in Mr. Nigeria 2010 he has won several awards both in modelling and acting, he studied law in the University of calabar and obtained a diploma in mass communication from the then calabar polytechnic (CRUTECH). 3. Inyanya 

Inyanya Onoyom Mbuk remains the biggest artiste Unical has produced he rose to fame when he won the first season of the MTN project Fame in 2013. 4. Stephanie okereke 

Stephanie Linus born Stephanie okereke is a popular Nigerian actress, film director and model she has several awards and nominations for her acting, she was also the first runner up at the most beautiful girl in Nigeria pageantry in 2002. In 2011 she was given a National Honour of MFR (member of the federal republic) by the federal government she obtained a degree in English and literary studies from the University of calabar. 5. Uche Jombo 

Uche Jombo is a Nigerian actress, screen writer and movie producer, she ventured into the movie industry in 1999 when she featured in a movie "Visa to hell" . She has written and co-written several movies and featured in over 200 movies. She is a graduate of mathematics and statistics from the University of calabar. 6. Kate Henshaw 

Kate Henshaw is a popular Nigerian actress, she was born in Cross River state, she first featured in a major Nollywood movie in 1993 in a movie titled "when the sun sets". She did remedial studies at the University of calabar and then majored in medical microbiology at the school of medical lab science (luth) lagos. She is one of the celebrities that attended Unical.

Isabella Agbor Ayuk was born in calabar,Cross River State she is a Nigerian Model, actress and philanthropist. Enyinna Nwigwe is a talented Nollywood actor and producer. Born on the 18th of September, 1982, he hails from Ngor Okpala local government area of Imo state. He has featured in many Nollywood movies, taking on lead roles in some, he is known for "The Wedding Party" (2016), "Couple of days" (2016), and "Red Code" (2019), wedding party 2 (2018). Charles Awurum a native of Imo state Nigeria is a famous Nollywood comic actor, director, producer, television personality, comedian and a philanthropist. He acts mostly in comedy movies alongside with Victor Osuagu, Charles Inojie, John Okafor, Chiwetalu Agu, Chinedu Ikedieze, Osita Iheme and Late Sam Loco Efe. He was born and brought up in Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria.

14. Frank Edoho 

Frank Edoho is a popular Tv presenter, host and filmmaker he is known for the show "who wants to be a millionaire" organized by MTN, Frank Edoho hails from Eket,Akwa  ibom state and he was born and brought up in lagos.
