Unical Faculty of Law shines again at Space law moot Court competition

Unical Faculty of law has once again made the University of Calabar proud.

Team Unical emerged as runners up at the Manfred lachs space law moot Court regional competition which was concluded on the 3rd of July 2020 and was hosted by the department of trade and industry, South Africa.

It was contested by many institutions across Africa, the University of Calabar Faculty of law emerged winners at the previous edition where they represented Africa at the finals in Washington DC and came out as First runner up.

This year's edition which was supposed to be held at South Africa was done virtually and the University of Pretoria in South Africa emerged winners.

The University of Calabar team happens to be the best in Nigeria as they have finished above all universities in Nigeria for two years in a row.

The team led by Nelly Helen Ebruka include: Ekanem Simeon Emmanuel, Eyo Emmanuel and Richard Felix-Uche. This year's competition was judged by only memorials.

2 Other Universities in Nigeria also tied in 3rd place and they include: the University of Benin (Nigeria), Makelle University (Ethiopia) and Niger Delta University (Nigeria).

Interestingly, space law isn't taught in the University of Calabar Faculty of Law but it's Students keep coming out top in space law competitions.
